Hello, and a very warm welcome to my website, datingsky.co.uk. I am honoured that you have taken the time to join me and I hope we can get to know one other on this incredible journey of life. This website is my way of offering an area where women of all ages and professions can come together to celebrate life, and discuss those all-important topics, in a friendly and non-judgemental environment.
Before I reveal the exciting ideas that I planned for this website, let me tell you a few things about myself and how datingsky.co.uk came to be.
How My Journey Began
First things first, my name is Rachel Jenkins and I live in the UK in a beautiful town called Northampton. I share my home, and most importantly my heart, with my two children and my husband, Arthur. Together we work as a small family unit with a strong belief that we only have one life, so let’s live it to its fullest. My motto, which you will no doubt hear a lot on this website, is “the sky’s the limit.” Perhaps it’s the degree I have in Psychology that encourages me to see life slightly different from others, but I do believe that by the power of positive thinking we can all benefit from stopping occasionally, and re-evaluating what we have, thanking our lucky stars that we are all part of this stunning planet.
To listen to this, you would assume I have always been this confident in my life. Nothing could be further from the truth! If I cut back to a few years ago and assess what my life was like then, there was certainly no positivity or even happiness in my heart, and my life was a world away from the one you see before you today.
The Power of Positive Thinking
Many years ago, I will confess that I found life difficult. Arthur and I were experiencing some martial problems, and we were just one-step away from the divorce courts. The atmosphere was ugly in our home and, as a result, our family unit was suffering. The arguments, the resentment and the misunderstandings had pushed us both to the brink, and we were at breaking point. So, what changed, I hear you ask? The simple answer; I did! I woke up one morning, after months of endless struggling, and I decided this life we were living was toxic. Nobody was at fault, nobody was to blame, we had just let things deteriorate, but only we could solve it. All I needed to do was apply the techniques I had spent so long cultivating as a psychology graduate. It was all there, under my nose; I just needed to take my own advice!
Website Born Out of Hope
Whilst I’m by no means saying that the fight to save my family and marriage was easy, it was certainly achievable – to which I am living proof of! By concentrating on what I had, I developed an inner strength to fight back and see life in a more positive stance, rather than becoming negative and despondent at the world. I suppose you could say that I found myself and my calling, for I knew I wanted to share my experiences with so many other women who found themselves in situations like mine. The best way I knew I could do this was to create a place where we could all come together and share in our stories, offering encouragement to one another to achieve happiness. This is how datingsky.co.uk was born.
I can now say that I am content with my life. I cherish the relationships I have created with my husband and my children, and I value the bond we have created as a family. I now want to share my positive experience with you. Let us reach for the sky as we travel this wonderful journey of life; most of all, let us do it together!
